Meet The force

Lucas M. Thomas

The Editor-in-Chief of NF Magazine and the one who issued the rallying cry that gave rise to the Nintendo Force in the first place! Lucas began his video game journalism career in newspapers and a small site called Gamerz Edge before joining the IGN Nintendo team in 2006. After several years writing for that massive website, he then pivoted back to print when word went out that Nintendo Power was coming to an end! He's led the NF team ever since. (Meanwhile, at home, he leads a different team: He has five video game-loving sons!)

DAVID OXFORD

Also known as LBD "Nytetrayn". Fan of SEGA, Sonic, Transformers, Xbox, and wrestling. Spends his days writing about video games, and his nights writing stories in the world of Mega Man (with the occasional stream on weekends). In fact, he literally wrote the book on Mega Man... twice. Runs PoisonMushroom.Org and The Mega Man Network.

TONY PONCE

Once an editor for the video game blog Destructoid and then an expat teaching English in Japan, Tony has since hung up his adventurer’s cloak in favor of a simpler existence as a (metaphorical) head in a jar. He now shares his wisdom with those who seek it. It's a life of quiet dignity.

REBECCA RUDRANATH

A lifelong Nintendo fan, Rebecca is a huge fan of The Legend of Zelda, Ace Attorney, Final Fantasy, Style Savvy, Splatoon and Pokemon. Her other interests include j-fashion, doll collecting, cooking and professional wrestling, and she’s guested on several video game related podcasts, including former Nintendo Power writer Chris Hoffman’s Power Pros. Her favorite game of all time is The Legend of Zelda. She streams regularly on Twitch at twitch.tv/JewelryJelly where she specializes in food themed games and all things cute.

KRIS RANDAZZO

Kris is a lifelong fan of all things video game and has a bottomless fascination with their history. He works with Stone Age Gamer as their social media and marketing guy, where he writes their blog, runs their YouTube channel, and more. He's also the Co-founder and Content Supervisor for the Geekade Podcast Network, and can be found on several of their shows.

MAGGIE LUTEY

Maggie's passion for JRPGs gave her an opportunity to contribute to Nintendo Force in 2020, and since then, she hasn't stopped writing about them! Some of her favorites include Nihon Falcom's Trails series, Xenoblade, Persona and Fire Emblem. She's always looking for more to play, which has led to her learning Japanese. When she's not gaming, she enjoys lifting weights, watching reality TV and wrestling, and forever being the tank/healer in her friends' Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.

BRETT MARTIN

Brett Martin is the owner of the largest video game memorabilia collection according to Guinness World Records, and he shows it all off on his YouTube channel and Instagram under the name Nightram56. He has helped other collectors find their collecting passion for years by writing the Collector's Corner since issue 2 of NF Magazine. He is also a lifelong gamer and contributes to various game reviews in the mag. It should also be mentioned that Brett is a stay at home dad to five awesome kids and a husband to a lovely wife.

JOHN-CHARLES HOLMES

John-Charles Holmes is a comic artist who may or not secretly be a Sega fan amongst the ranks of Nintendo Force. He's previously managed a local retro game store, currently acts as Brand Manager and a stream host for The Yetee, and continues to draw cute and fun comics for all-ages audiences. If you ever meet him in real life, feel free to talk to him about pizza or Back to the Future, as he always has a lot to say on both. No (known) relation to Jonathan Holmes.

Thor Thorvaldson

A video game fanatic since the days of the Atari 2600, Thor has been arting it up for Nintendo Force for quite some time, now creating comics and character-packed posters. Thor is currently working on the Dr. Chozo & Samus-Chan comic and fills his spare time shiny hunting in basically any Pokémon game he can find. Thor is also a big fan of Mega Man, but not nearly as big as David!

Jonathan Holmes

When it comes to video games, Jonathan Holmes loves the old normal ones, the new weird ones, and everything in-between. He's been writing and drawing stuff about games since 2008, for places like Destructoid, GhM Zine, Boss Fight Books, Talking to Women about Videogames (The Comic), Rhythm Zinegoku, A Profound Waste of Time, Switch Player, Limited Run, Lock-On, and of course Nintendo Force, where he has contributed in one form or another to every single issue! Before (most of) all that he wrestled for Kaiju Big Battel, created a not-for-kids cartoon called Teenage Pokémon, and was a cast member on MTV's Road Rules.

Matthew Loffhagen

The first game Matthew Loffhagen ever beat was Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins on his sister's Game Boy Pocket, and he hasn't shut up about it since. One half of the YouTube channel Video Game Story Time, when he isn't drawing pictures of Mario and Sonic, he's playing games with his Zelda-obsessed son and daughter or making video content about LEGO for Brick Fanatics. (He never did give his sister back her Game Boy.)
